In December 2019, Lynden Players set sail for Treasure Island with a fine cast and crew, with director Jo Bailey at the helm.
The cut throat pirates, led by Long John Slither and Pink Dog, were on the search for buried treasure with cabin boy Jim Ladd, his mother Dame Ladd, Doctor Liversausage, Capt Smellit, Squire Polperro, his spirited stowaway daughter Nancy and two hapless footmen Mr Bodmin and Mr Newquay.
The company included a very hard working supporting cast of villagers, sailors, pirates and don't forget the brilliant Jemstones.
Writted by Richard Lloyd, the script paid tribute to the children's classic with lots of added 'extras', some cracking jokes, and of course, a happy ending!
