The mood was decidedly retro for our January meeting.
We rummaged around in the archives and unearthed some classic radio drama.
Our first reading was 'A Scandal in Bohemia'- a Sherlock Holmes adaptation which was broadcast in America on 10 December 1945. It was a lot of fun and showcased some very dodgy cockney accents.
Our second reading was a supernatural thriller: 'Dweller in the Darkness' which was broadcast by the BBC on 14 April 1925.
One of the scripts we looked at but decided to save for another day was:'The War of the Worlds'. Watch out for this historic radio drama at a later date.
